Study Task 5: Social Media Pro
My current social media accounts include:
Pinterest - I often use for inspirational images, reference photos for character poses or outfits and to create a body of work I can refer to when I have a creative block.
YouTube - I do not upload to YT, I use it mainly to watch documentaries (not specific to my practice) but also to follow some of my favourite artists. I've found that I particularly enjoy videos by illustrators and being able to watch their process, returning to these videos for a creative morale boost when I'm doing my own work. After this I have found a real interest in watercolour.
Snapchat - I use personally
Twitter, Facebook - Mainly I use these personally, but I do follow accounts of illustrators, animators or forums (on Facebook) where I can keep up with their work.
Instagram - I hold one personal account and one which I use as a platform for my work. The art based Instagram has become my favourite social media platform as there is always an influx of work to be influenced and inspired by. I often archive work which creates a moodboard, somewhat like Pinterest, of images that are relevant to my practice.
My plan was to start @wayl_ofatime on Instagram over summer which I successfully , and have made a dozen posts since but I definitely plan to post more so, hopefully weekly!.. And a mix of university work and personal work.
