A Talk from David Bunting

We recently had the pleasure of listening to a talk from David Bunting, who is currently working on the new animated Bob the Builder; which he self proclaimed to our class of 20 or so year olds, to be essentially ruining our childhood memories. It was a very enjoyable, entertaining talk and I found it eye opening in terms of considering career paths other than just animation. It was very interesting to receive an insight into the behind the scenes of the CG animation and see how a job such as storyboarding is pertient to the whole process. I think this may have been the moment where I could imagine myself in a place in pre production.
It's always inspiring to hear a successful person in the industry talk about their journey through it; we heard about his work in Visual Effects with Disney in France and how the skills he learnt through trial and error have been transferrable in other jobs. It was an important reminder that every job, brief, drawing exists to better your future work.
