M.A.F.: Day 3

Manchester Animation Festival 2017

Last but not least...

Laymun, trailer: https://vimeo.com/224060740. This had such beautiful paper work animation, using a medium to create a visually beautiful film. The simple material did not take from the strong message, in fact I think it made more room for the tale of violence to be told so sensitively. Maybe the choice of paper was used to reflect the fragility of that existence.

The Ogre: I loved this film, there is a crescendo in narrative and the characters are expressed through different shapes, whilst having their different style in movement to set them apart.

Life Cycles: https://vimeo.com/183658165.
I found this to be so thought provoking, without being preachy with the subject matter. I love the raw traditional style and creative camera work. Will we ever break the cycle to change these events?
