I am my biggest critic, so I am replacing frustration with
what I can’t do or what’s not perfect with reassurances of the progress I’ve
made or the lessons I’ve learnt, and it’s already given me a much more positive
outlook on my work. I lack understanding in software other than Photoshop so I
intend on experimenting with them, and using my team and communication skills I
will be able to consume knowledge from my peers and tutors; as well as online
tutorials. Another weakness is my animation so I’m going to work through the
Animator’s Survival Guide and possibly try my hand at some old Loop de Loop themes-
small, frequent projects should hopefully show progress! I hope to take hold of
more opportunities in the near future- volunteering at industry relevant events,
any online briefs/ tutorials such as Animated Buzz. I am also lucky to live
down South which is a hive for animation so hopefully in the future I can find
studio visits, but for now I will continue to immerse myself within the galleries
and museums in London for drawing practice and inspiration. To maintain my
current strengths: (resilience) I will employ these strategies and (character/
background design) explore other styles and software, do art studies, focus on
some figure drawings, participate in drawing challenges so my art doesn’t
become stagnant with University specific work and continue to keep my online
presence alive.
